METRO was founded in 1989. The initial capital of the created civil partnership amounted to US$2500.
This was the money earned by the owner of the company - Marek Lipka - during agricultural work in the Netherlands.
The first seat of the company was a rented garage and the whole "transport fleet" consisted of one "Żuk" car.
During the eighteen years of the company's existence it changed its location a few times, it grew and the number of
customers also grew. At the moment the partnership is managed by a board consisting of two people
- Marek Lipka and Andrzej Lipka.
Today METRO operates in its own 1450 m2 (16 000 sq ft) office and warehouse building in Sokołów near
Warsaw and cooperates with the best manufacturers of building and furniture fittings (Assa-Abbloy,
Eco Schulte, Gah Alberts, Gamet, Gerda, GEZE, Headbourne, Jania, Kaba Gege, Metalplast Częstochowa,
Metalplast LOB, Master-Lock, Novol. Siro, Winkhaus, VBH....), is a member of the "OKUCIA DLA BUDOWNICTWA"
purchasing group and its own transport fleet allows for quick delivery of the chosen product to a customer
located anywhere in the country.
